biography
( 1993 ) eunmi is born in Seattle, Washington to a struggling young mother. in a moment of desperation, eunseo moves from her native home of south korea to escape the judgement that came along with her pregnancy. eunmi's father was a high-ranking politician. they live in a shitty studio apartment that’s falling apart but at least they have a place they can call their own.
( 1995 ) luna’s mother falls pregnant again sometime after they get back from visiting south korea. nine months later a baby boy named eunjae is born.
( 1997 ) luna’s teachers are perplexed about complaints coming from the other students. to them, luna was an angel, a sweet girl who could do no wrong. but behind their backs she was what the other parents would call a problem child. she had a penchant for causing chaos wherever she went, cunning enough get away with her torment... that was until the kids got home and told their parents.
( 2000 ) it only escalates as luna gets older. the suspensions, phone calls home, parents also had no qualms in showing up at the doorstep demanding that eunseo intervened and did something about her child’s behavior. luna does (most of) what she’s told at home. she cleans after herself, takes care of her brother, and helps her mother as often as she needs. eunseo knows that something is up with her but she doesn’t have the resources to figure it out. why is it that as soon as luna is out from under her watchful gaze, she becomes am issue?
( 2003 ) it gets to the point where eunseo can no longer struggle through life, barely making ends meet, before she decides to pack up and move them in with her parents in south korea. the culture shock for eunmi and eunjae is intense, they stick out like sore thumbs with their heavily accented korean.
( 2004 ) eunseo starts going on dates a lot and before the kids can even wrap their heads around seeing their mother with a man, she's engaged. upon finding out that their mother’s mystery man was loaded, it all started to make sense to luna. however, eunseo really grew to love her mr. right, the kind of handsome that grows on you slowly. kind and considerate. eunmi and eunjae gain a step-sibling from this matrimony.
( 2006 ) luna is scouted while at a shopping mall with her friends. at first, she obliged because she knows the kind of power it’d give her. she’s beautiful and tall for her age, not to mention has some sort of muscial background. HER DAYS AS A TRAINEE AT (NAME WITHDRAWN FOR PRIVACY REASONS) WERE SPENT EXACTLY HOW THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE SPENT… TRAINING. SHE DIDN’T REALLY TRY TO MAKE ANY FRIENDS. luna WAS MORE CONCERNED with DEBUTING.
( 2007 ) HOWEVER, HER COLD EXTERIOR AND SHARP TONGUE WERE GROUNDS FOR HER TO FALL BACK INTO HER SHIT-STARTER PERSONA; AND AFTER A PHYSICAL ALTERCATION LANDED ANOTHER TRAINEE IN A HOSPITAL WITH 12 STITCHES, luna WAS ULTIMATELY RELEASED five YEARS EARLY FROM HER CONTRACT. money was the only thing that could keep this scandal from unraveling. the newly scarred trainee sent away with more money than she knew what to do with.
( 2008 ) ONE OF THE DIRECTORS FROM (NAME WITHDRAWN FOR PRIVACY REASONS) PROMISED TO HELP HER FIND A NEW A COMPANY AND WITHIN A COUPLE of weeks SHE WAS OFFERED A CONTRACT AT DM RECORDS. ONCE AGAIN SHE FELL INTO HER USUAL ROUTINE; PRACTICE, SCHOOL, PRACTICE, SLEEP. HAVING BEEN WITH A MUCH STRICTER COMPANY BEFORE SHE felt as though she HAD A BIT OF AN EDGE WHEN it came to debuting. not to mention, FOR ONCE IN HER LIFE SHE WAS ABLE TO FIND A GROUP OF PEOPLE WITH WHOM SHE COULD CONFIDE. eunmi WAS SURPRISED AT THE FACT THAT SHE ENJOYED SPENDING TIME WITH MOST OF THE PEOPLE IN DM RECORDS.
( 2009 ) on the year anniversary of joining dm records, eunmi received news she was selected to JOIN THE UPCOMING GIRL GROUP L:OVELESS UNDER THE STAGE NAME LUNA. SHE WAS TO BE THEIR VISUAL, MAKNAE, AND LEAD VOCAL. however, THAT DIDN’T MEAN HER HARD WORK STOPPED THERE. SHE KNEW JUST HOW MANY OTHER TRAINEES WOULD KILL FOR HER POSITION. SHE KNEW THAT SHE HAD TO DO HER ABSOLUTE BEST TO SURPASS EVERYONE’S EXPECTATIONS. SHE KNEW THEY ALL ASSUMED THAT SHE WAS SOLELY IN THE COMPANY BECAUSE OF THE MONEY THAT BACKED HER PRETTY FACE (AND IN A TWISTED WAY, THAT WAS TRUE). EUNMI WAS DETERMINED TO PROVE THEM ALL WRONG.

☾ luna can play the bass, guitar, and piano. the first instrument she picked up was a guitar, taking lessons throughout middle school. she learned how to play the piano as a trainee at DM, and bass as an adult.
☾ luna recently purchased a home in seongbuk-dong, seoul. a village located in the north of seoul, nestled in the hills overlooking the city. this is her first time living alone. luna previously lived in a high-rise apartment in seoul that she shared with l:oveless member, and best friend, sunnie.
☾ nobody calls luna by her birthname (eunmi).
☾ luna is extremely close to her family. her mother is her best friend (outside of sunnie) and she has a very loving & respectful relationship with her brother. she doesn't even view her step-brother & step-father as her "step" family.
☾ although she’s never met her biological father, she knows exactly who he is. hushed conversations and documents left lying carelessly were no match for luna and her insatiable curiosity. her father is a high-ranking politician with his own family.
☾ despite popular opinion, luna does not have a problem with authority figures. she’s always been adamant about people earning her respect, instead of just demanding it.
☾ over time, luna has learned how to control her temper. in situations where she would have been quick to react negatively, she now keeps her composure. she'd rather play the long game anyway.
☾ luna's first love (and only love) passed away suddenly in a horrific bus accident in 2012. the two had been dating on and off in (open) secret for almost four years. he was also an idol trainee at her first company, however, his fate at the company existed mostly in limbo. he was kind, studious, and friendly; he was everything that she was not and she absolutely loved that about him.
